Interstate 64 pavement project continues
in Montgomery County
Crack sealing project for pavement joints
LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 23, 2014) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, announces that work continues for Interstate 64 in Montgomery County. Lane closures are necessary for crack sealing work to progress. Work will continue through the beginning of August.
Crack sealing is a material used to seal pavement joints. This preventative process aids in preserving the life of the pavement. Thereby, aiding in the reduction of future maintenance costs.
Work schedules and locations:
- M - F daytime work hours – 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - single lane closures
(these closures will continue to vary between the left and right lane)
- M - F nighttime work hours – if deemed necessary for double lane closures
Locations: (eastbound and westbound)
Motorists should continue to merge as necessary during the active project.
All scheduled work is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
