Additional improvements scheduled for
Newtown Pike in Lexington
Part of the KY 922 (Newtown Pike) improvement project
From West Fourth Street to West Loudon Avenue in Fayette County
LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 10, 2014) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, announces that work is in effect for the improvement project on Newtown Pike. Changes to the traffic pattern will take place this afternoon.
- Monday, March 10 – a lane closure will begin at approximately 4:00 p.m. today and continue until further notice
- Traffic control will be in effect along the northbound lane of Newtown Pike (from the new BCTC entrance past Loudon Avenue). The right (slow) lane will close to motorists.
Appropriate signage and traffic control devices will be in place to alert motorists.
All scheduled work is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling near the work area.
