Lane Closures Scheduled for US 60/Versailles Road
Part of the US 60/Versailles Road Rehabilitation Project in
Fayette and Woodford Counties
 
LEXINGTON, Ky. (February 20, 2013) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, announces that lane closures are scheduled for US 60/Versailles Road.
 
Work will be performed:
 
  • Thursday, February 21 - 8:00 p.m. through 5:00 a.m. on Friday, February 22
           
The location of the work (a mobile operation) from Thursday to Friday will be between KY 4 (New Circle Road) and the Bluegrass Parkway.    
The right (slow) lane will be closed in both directions during the hours of work.
 
  • Friday, February 22 - 8:00 p.m. through 5:00 a.m. on Monday, February 25
 
The location for the work (a mobile operation) from Friday to Monday will be between KY 4 (New Circle Road) and the Bluegrass Parkway.
The right (slow) lane will be closed in both directions during the hours of work.
 
  • Monday, February 25 (morning) – the road will reopen with shifted traffic lanes
Motorists will need to watch for the new configuration when traveling on the roadway.
 
Truck Traffic – trucks will be required to travel in the left lane through the construction limits after the traffic is shifted on Monday morning.
 
A reduced speed limit with double fines will be in place for violations that occur within the work zone.
 
  • Alternate routes – motorists can utilize Interstate 64 and US 421 (Leestown Road)
 
 
All scheduled work is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
 
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the work area.
