What is Traffic Incident Management or TIM?
TIM consists of a planned and coordinated multi-disciplinary process to detect, respond to, and clear traffic incidents so that traffic flow may be restored as safely and quickly as possible. Effective TIM reduces the duration and impacts of traffic incidents and improves the safety of motorists, crash victims and emergency responders.
Great Eight Incident Management Task Force:
The Great Eight Incident Management Task Force was established in early 2011. Our first meeting was held on April 5, 2011. The Task Force consists of Incident Response stakeholders from the eight rural counties in the District 6 area, including federal, state and local transportation, law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services, emergency management and environmental protection agencies as well as private towing / recovery and environmental cleanup companies. Our goal is to build relationships that foster good communication, cooperation and coordination between all response agencies and work toward finding solutions to issues affecting the safety and efficiency of all responders AND the traveling public when crashes and other incidents occur on the roadways in District 6.
We meet quarterly on the dates and at the times provided on this page. We welcome all interested TIM stakeholders to attend. If you have questions, contact the District 6 IM Coordinator, Bob Hill at 859-341-2700, or cell 859-393-7767 or e-mail at email@example.com.
