Blankenbaker Parkway to I-64 ramp closure April 7-13
Ramp to be closed six days for concrete replacement
Louisville, KY (April 3, 2013) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 5 Office advises motorists of the closure of the ramp from northbound KY 913 (Blankenbaker Parkway) to westbound Interstate 64. Contract crews will be replacing cracked concrete pavement on this ramp as part of the Blankenbaker Parkway improvement project.
The entrance ramp from northbound Blankenbaker Parkway to westbound I-64 will be closed from 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 7 until 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13.
There will be two signed detours in the area based on the direction motorists are traveling. Drivers will be directed to either eastbound I-64 to northbound I-265 to westbound I-64 or Bluegrass Parkway to Watterson Trail to southbound Blankenbaker Parkway to westbound I-64.
The exit ramp from eastbound I-64 to northbound Blankenbaker Parkway (Exit 17) is scheduled for closure April 14-20, weather permitting.
Gohmann Construction Inc. was awarded a contract in the amount of $1.76 million. Work is scheduled for completion by June 1, 2013.
