Interstate 265 ramp closures scheduled for March 22-25
Louisville, KY (March 21, 2013) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 5 Office advises motorists of ramp closures on I-265 as part of the pavement repair project between KY 146 (LaGrange Road) and Interstate 71 (mile points 30.3 and 34.7). Contract crews will be performing concrete pavement repairs at the KY 22 and I-71 interchanges.
The entrance ramp from eastbound KY 22 to northbound I-265 will be closed from 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22 until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, March 25. Motorists should follow the signed detour via southbound I-265 to KY 146 (Exit 30) and then access northbound I-265.
In addition, the exit ramp from northbound I-265 to northbound I-71 (Exit 35A) will be closed during the same time frame this weekend. Motorists should follow the signed detour via three of the loop ramps in the I-265/I-71 interchange.
The speed limit in the work zone is reduced to 55 MPH and double fines will be enforced.
Hall Contracting, Inc. was awarded the contract for this project in the amount of $5.9 million. As part of this contract, all work on I-265 north of KY 22 must be completed by June 3, 2013 to avoid conflicts with construction of the east end crossing for the Louisville Southern Indiana Ohio River Bridges Project. The remainder of the work is scheduled for completion by August 1, 2013.
The actual starting date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
