Entrance ramp to be closed for pavement replacement
Louisville, KY (September 12, 2013) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 5 Office advises motorists that the entrance ramp from KY 329 to southbound Interstate in Oldham County will be closed for concrete pavement replacement. The ramp is scheduled for closure September 13-23.
KYTC recently awarded a contract to Gohmann Asphalt and Construction, Inc. to remove and replace the concrete pavement at the exit and entrance ramps on southbound Interstate 71 at KY 329. Repairs to the southbound exit ramp to KY 329 (Exit 14) have been underway since September 6 and will be completed this evening.
The entrance ramp from KY 329 to southbound I-71 contains a larger amount of pavement and was originally announced for two 5-day closure periods of September 13-18 and September 20-25. This work is being consolidated into one 10-day closure period.
The entrance ramp from KY 329 to southbound I-71 will be closed from 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13 until 7:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23. Motorists should follow the signed detour via northbound KY 329 to eastbound KY 146 and proceed to Interstate 71.
The contract amount for this project is $772,000 and has a completion date of September 30, 2013.
