Interstate 64 ramp closure in Jefferson County scheduled for March 8-11
Louisville, KY (March 6, 2013) – Spring weather conditions will make for good working conditions this weekend on Interstate 264 (Watterson Expressway). Concrete repairs are scheduled for the exit ramp from eastbound I-64 to eastbound I-264 (Exit 12B). This ramp will be closed from 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8 until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, March 11.
The signed detour for the I-64 East to I-264 East exit will be to take westbound I-264 (Exit 12A) to the Breckenridge Lane South exit (Exit 18A). Motorists can access eastbound I-264 at the end of this loop ramp.
The speed limit in the work zone is reduced to 45 MPH and double fines will be enforced.
For the next few weeks, concrete repairs will be taking place primarily on weekends. Lane and ramp closures are possible from 8:00 p.m. on Friday until 6:00 a.m. on Monday.
When diamond grinding of the pavement begins later in the project, lane and ramp closures are possible on weeknights Monday – Friday from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning.
Hall Contracting, Inc. was awarded the contract for this project in the amount of $8.1 million. The work is scheduled for completion by July 31, 2013.
