November 9th, 2011 Update:
Rehabilitation Of Interstate 65 From
Munfordville To Elizabethtown Is Complete

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (November 9, 2011) –  Resurfacing, guardrail and right-of-way clearing work related to a project along Interstate 65 in Central Kentucky is complete.  All lanes are now open from Munfordville to Elizabethtown, easing congestion along I65 and US 31w corridors.  This section of the interstate has new asphalt on all lanes and shoulders.  Entrance and exit ramps at Munfordville, Upton, Sonora and Glendale are also resurfaced.  New guardrail, meeting federal highway safety standards, is also installed along several miles of the corridor.  The interstate right-of-way features a clear and more safe buffer zone.

Rehabilitation of the interstate through Hart, LaRue and Hardin Counties is divided into two separate projects which began in late 2010 with the placement of concrete barrier walls and right-of-way clearing.  Although construction work is complete, motorists may see contract crews present on right-of-way and median areas as signage is removed and materials such as barrels and cones are collected.  Contractors (Scotty’s Contracting, LLC. and Commercial Pavers, Inc.) along with Kentucky Transportation Cabinet representatives signed the "work completed" documents November 1st and 2nd on the two projects.
