Week of August 29:

Lawrence County Maintenance will be cleaning ditchlines on KY 581 between mile points 5 and 9 and on KY 1690 between mile points 0 to 5.

Construction Work Under Way:

KY 40 Bridge near Sheldon Clark High School

KY 40 section of new road that ties into the new bridge

KY 122 at Meade Hill in Floyd County; reconstruct section of road near South Floyd High School to provide safety improvements

US 119 at Letcher-Harlan County line: new bridge

KY 15 at KY 160 in Whitesburg: new turn lane

New US 460 in Pike County: All sections from US 23 to Marrowbone and from Beaver to the Virginia state line are either finished or under construction. One section remains to be let for bids, the section between Marrowbone and Beaver.

Preparing for Winter - slow down for work crews!

There are lots of active work sites throughout D-12's seven counties as we prepare for winter weather. Project under way range from weed spraying and striping to culvert replacements and ditchline cleaning. Construction workers are replacing bridges, making safety improvements, and building new roads (KY 40 in Martin County and US 460 in Pike County). Stay alert as you drive! Be respectful of work zone signs, flaggers, and reduced speed limits in some areas. Drive smart and be safe out there!
