Dealing with all of Corbin's tomorrows
Significant growth along the U.S. 25E corridor between its junctions with I-75 and KY 3041 (the Corbin bypass) has led those charged with planning for the future of Kentucky's highway system to examine a long-dormant idea: an extension of KY 3041 in a northwestern direction, into Laurel County to intersect with U.S. 25 and I-75.
A potential extension of KY 3041 has been on the Transportation Cabinet's drawing board since the highway was constructed in the early 1990s. $500,000 is being spent to study potential highway alignments and determine the project's viability.
As part of efforts to garner community input, a public meeting concerning the project was held at Lynn Camp High School on June 13, 2013.
