Question:
At the recent meeting held May 30, 2007 with representatives of the City of Campton, mention was made that the City desired that excess material generated from the Project could be utilized to construct a dam for use as an auxiliary water source. Is this location to be designated as a mandatory excess material site for the Project?
Answer:
No, the location in question is not a mandatory excess material site for the Project. The DBT is free to make arrangements with any interested party to dispose of all excess materials generated by construction of the Project. As per the Scope of Services, all work must be done in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and permits
Question:
Does KYTC want the design build team to change deficient vertical curves along the project to the proposed 70 MPH design speed criteria? Doing so would require raising grade on two sag vertical curves (Approx. 1 ft and 4 ft) and lowering grade on two other crest vertical curves (Approx. 1.6 ft and 5.3 ft) with full depth pavement and not overlaying the existing pavement as is the desired option.
Answer:
KYTC concurs that the desired option is to overlay the existing pavement. Based upon evaluation of available plans, KYTC will allow the DB's to utilize a design speed of 60 MPH for design of the roadway geometrics. Please be advised that this exception must be documented in the Design Executive Summary that must be prepared and submitted for the project by the DBT.
Question:
Does KYTC want the design build team to change deficient cross slopes along the project to the proposed 70 MPH design speed criteria?
Answer:
Use the 60 MPH design speed for cross slope determination for the project.
Question:
Has KYTC obtained additional information for the Eastern KY Monument Center and if so can the information be provided to the design build team?
Answer:
No, KYTC does not have any new or additional information to offer regarding the Monument Center at this time.
