Questions and Answers:
Question:
Is the pavement design restricted only to the one outlined in the Scope of Services?
Answer:
Since there are a lot of factors and considerations that make up a pavement design for a particular project, the pavement design furnished by the Cabinet is not a feature that is eligible for change by the Contractor.
Question:
Will KYTC please provide a list of approved utility consultants that perform SUE work?
Answer:
KYTC uses our statewide consultants QK4 and Quest Engineers for in-house work. Others available:
Tampa Bay Engineers (known as TBE), Robert Clemens, T- 317-585-3540, C- 317-491-5716, bclemens@tbegroup.com,

Question:
The package of information provided to the competitors on the subject project indicates that a landscape plan is due at the ROW plan stage. Does this mean that a price for the landscape plan is not to be included in the lump sum bid price to be submitted on September 8?
We would like a detailed explanation of the schedule that is shown in section 17.1 of the handout. How do these milestones relate to the submittal date of September 8?
Answer:
The cost for landscaping shall be included in the lump sum bid price submitted 9-8-06. As with other items, the DBT will have to be far enough along in the process to prepare a bid. The "final plans" are not due until ROW plan submittal.
Schedule Explanation: In general, as stated in the scope of services document, please provide a project schedule that includes the items listed (at a minimum) and the dates the DBT intends to accomplish these milestones. KYTC has every intention of expediting the review of the bid submittals. For scheduling submittal purposes, KYTC intends to have the winning DBT selected by 10-1-06. Please use this as a basis to prepare the schedule.
Question:
The pavement design in the Scope of Services document indicates that the shoulders along Newtown Pike are to receive an Asphalt Seal Coat application. However, the typical sections shown do not show this. Which is correct?
Answer:
The typical sections are correct. No asphalt seal coat application will be required on Newtown Pike or Ironworks Pike.
Question:
For bidding purposes, will a bid disk be required as a part of the DBT bid package?
Answer:
