Think
Kentucky
Here in Kentucky, we love to share. We would like
nothing more than to share with everyone our beautiful
culture, lakes, mountains, farmlands, parks and
people. All the wondrous beauty and variety in
Kentucky would take volumes to illustrate. One
of our key missions here in the Department of
Aviation is the economic development of our great
Commonwealth of Kentucky. We believe a dynamic
air transportation system is essential to the
growth and economic prosperity of our Great State.
In order to achieve this mission, the Department
of Aviation is dedicated to the continued growth
and development of our State’s air transportation
system. If you would like to come and see what
the Commonwealth of Kentucky has to offer you
and your business, please contact our Cabinet
for Economic Development. Y’all
come and see…you’ll be glad you did!

Airports
An important mission for the Kentucky Department
of Aviation (KDA) is to utilize our State airports
to promote economic development within the Commonwealth.
The Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development
will list sites suited for manufacturing or warehouse/distribution
provided they meet certain criteria.
To
date, we have five airports in Campbellsville, Elizabethtown, Frankfort, London and Sturgis that are listed on the Cabinet for Economic Development’s
(CED) Economic Development Information System
(EDIS). In addition to industrial sites, the CED
can list industrial
buildings in the EDIS.
The
marketing of available industrial sites and buildings
is extremely important for local economic development.
Please be sure to contact the CED Site
Evaluation Branch or the Kentucky
Department of Aviation if you have available sites
suitable for development.
Existing
Businesses
If you are an existing Kentucky business, and
are thinking about expanding within the Commonwealth,
there are a number of ways Kentucky economic professionals
can assist you. A business development specialist
from the CED can be scheduled to visit with your
company to discuss how we can help. For information
about business expansion incentives or to schedule
a visit, contact your regional
economic development office.
New Businesses
Kentucky maintains a number
of excellent economic
development programs and incentives
for new businesses looking to locate here in the
Commonwealth. Our mission at the KDA is to provide
your business with the highest quality air transportation
system. We have three new airports scheduled for
completion in 2005 and more new airports in the
planning stage.
